We’re honored to present our first sponsored artist to come from the US to Prague. For one week, playwright Annie G. Levy will workshop her new play, Six Seeds: The Persephone Project – Staged Reading directed by Nicole J. Adelman (CATNIP co-founder). The play will have a staged reading at the end of the week on Saturday, January 19th (Doors 19:00, Show 19:30). CATNIP intends to then mount a full production later in Fall 2019.
SIX SEEDS is a beautiful retelling of a classic story that continues to deeply influence our modern world. Both intimate and epic, the story is of a young woman who finds herself trapped in a marriage she didn’t agree to. Though she longs to escape back to the comfortable protection of her mother, she also yearns for freedom from the safety and boundaries of childhood. A pull between innocence and experience, SIX SEEDS is a play about women by a woman and as a theater company created by and helmed by women (Peppur Chambers & Nicole J. Adelman), we’re overjoyed to present this important work.
SIX SEEDS will work out of Studio SAVEC, our artistic home and partner, in the center of Prague.
